Rock Fireplaces
Rock fireplaces have stone-faced facades. This irregular surface can make it difficult to overlap the opening of the fireplace like you would with a brick or tile finish. Oftentimes the doors for this type of fireplace need to be custom made. Once installed, any gaps between the stone and the frame will be filled with mortar.
Multi-Sided Fireplaces
Fireplaces come in different shapes and sizes. If you have multi-sided fireplace in the shape of an “L” or a “U”, you will need custom doors. These measurements have unique parameters that need to be accounted for, like sub-frame depth, the maximum and minimum frame overlap, and the position of any support post.
Tile/Marble Faced Fireplaces
These types of fireplaces are typically the easiest to measure for doors. With a smooth, even, level surface faced with tile or marble, there are a number of door options and placements.
Arched Fireplaces
For fireplaces with an arched opening, custom door can be created based off of a template. This template allows for the doors to perfectly match the shape and size of the arch.
Cabinet Doors for Your Fireplace
Cabinet, or twin-styled doors, has one solid pane of glass on each door. They open similarly to cabinet doors in your kitchen.
Bi-Fold Doors for Your Fireplace
Bi-fold doors have two panes of glass on each door. These panes fold in half when opened. Bi-fold doors close more compactly and are ideal for smaller fireplaces.
Trackless Bi-Fold Fireplace Doors
This type of bi-fold door has a full-swing door that opens completely off to the side, creating wider access to the firebox.
Tracked Bi-Fold Fireplace Doors
This type of bi-fold door slides along a rail on the door frame. This option offers a more safe and secure barrier from the fire. Tracked bi-fold doors are good for homes with small children.
Keeping your fireplace doors clean is a great way to extend their life and enhance the beauty of your home’s fireplace. Soot build-up, ash, streaks, and smears can make the fireplace difficult to see, but the side effects of enjoying a fire are easy to clean.
